Mr. Manners

My husband put Christmas lights on the house this past weekend, something we haven't done in awhile. The boys were just thrilled and were trying to help out in any way they could. Our almost three-year old boy who I will call "Tank" was delighted! After arriving home from a Christmas parade he saw the lights on the house and said, "Dank Oo Daddy, putting ights on my ouse!"  We were happy to hear his thankful sentiment. Now each time we have returned home this week he again Thanks his Daddy for the lights.

Tank is also my child to catch you in a sneeze and right away say "GOD (with much emphasis), bess YOU!" Or to come up and whisper in your ear, "I wuv you!" What a joy to my heart! Thank you Lord for glimpses of a sweet little boy as he can be quite the patience tester too!

My First Blog

This is my first blog. I have wanted to begin one for awhile now but can you believe that I was hung up on figuring out a user name and title?!? After reading many entries, I have been encouraged not only in homeschooling but in being a godly wife and mother. I pray that I can be an encouragement to you as well.

Today is the day after Thanksgiving. No, I did not rush to the sales but my husband did suggest that we head to the mall to get out for a bit. I wasn't so sure of that idea as shopping with five little ones in tow isn't the most pleasant of experiences. Of course since we did not intend to purchase anything and only look around it wasn't so bad. I was amazed at the crowds of people and the amount of time people are willing to wait in a line just to buy something! Ah, how I enjoy online buying!!

We then went out for a nice lunch at a family restaurant. The typical eyes were watching us march into and exit the building. The children enjoy going out to eat so we rarely have any problems arise. Our waitress was being "nosy" (her words) and wondered if we did anything differently to have a girl after four boys. Well, no, nothing out of the ordinary. She has three boys and would like a girl but thought maybe I could give advice on how to go about that. My husband told her that we take them as they come and would have gladly welcomed another boy!

Next on the agenda was a trip to the barber. Our youngest, who is quite the character, was excited to be first as he has only had his hair cut by grandma. He was most in need of a cut as he had "trimmed" his own hair quite a bit on top a few weeks earlier but claims that "Mama did it".  I was very thankful to overhear another barber telling a customer how well-behaved our children were. It thrills me when we receive comments like that when often it seems far from true. Praise the Lord that our children were obedient examples today!
